Yes, there are AI soul and R&B singers, and the best known say so openly. Xania Monet’s creator, Eddie Dalton’s creator and the producer behind the viral “Papaoutai (Afro Soul)” cover have all described using AI. In our files, 43 artists are tagged soul, R&B or neo-soul as of Oct 24, 2026. Eighteen are “Creator disclosed AI”: the act or the person behind it said so. Twenty-five are “Platform AI label”: Spotify or Deezer applied a label, and our verdict rests on that label. None of these files is “Unclear” or “Human confirmed” today. Two label notes first. Spotify’s “AI Persona” badge means the artist told Spotify its public identity is an AI-generated person; “Likely AI Persona” means Spotify reviewed the profile and decided. Either way it is about the artist’s identity, not how the music was made (Spotify Support, checked Oct 24, 2026). Deezer’s “AI-generated content” notice is applied per album when its detector finds AI-generated tracks (Deezer).
Xania Monet: the R&B act with a record deal
Xania Monet is the project of poet Telisha “Nikki” Jones of Olive Branch, Mississippi. Billboard reported in Sep 2025 that she “used AI to craft her image and Suno to craft her music”, that her manager Romel Murphy said 90% of the lyrics are her own stories, and that Hallwood Media signed her after bidding reached $3 million. That week “How Was I Supposed to Know” hit No. 1 on R&B Digital Song Sales, and “Let Go, Let God” debuted at No. 21 on Hot Gospel Songs (Billboard, checked Oct 24, 2026). Eddie Dalton: the gray-haired soul voice
Eddie Dalton is filed under blues and soul. Our file records that creator Dallas Little told Showbiz411 his social videos are “clearly labeled as AI-generated” and that he writes all the songs, so the verdict is “Creator disclosed AI”. Little’s other acts, including Cain Walker, are covered in AI country singers. Dalton’s song “Another Day Old” has its own file.
“Papaoutai (Afro Soul)” and mikeeysmind
In Jan 2026 Newsweek reported that “Papaoutai—Afro Soul”, credited to Unjaps, mikeeysmind and chill 77, was the highest new entry on Spotify’s global chart that week, at No. 168. At the time Newsweek wrote that it “has not yet been independently verified that the cover is AI” (Newsweek, checked Oct 24, 2026).
That changed on Jun 18, 2026. Gothenburg producer Mikael “mikeeysmind” Daghighi told TV4 Nyheterna that the instrumental was largely made without AI, but that AI was used for the voice. He said he had reached an agreement with the original artist’s team (TV4 Nyheterna, checked Oct 24, 2026). Deezer tags the single “AI-generated content” (Deezer). Our mikeeysmind file is “Creator disclosed AI”, and the song is at Papaoutai (Afro Soul).
Red Village, whose biggest tracks are soul versions of hits credited jointly with mikeeysmind, is a separate file. It is “Platform AI label”: Spotify shows “Likely AI Persona” and Deezer tags “Lose Yourself”. Its “Umbrella” cover has its own page.
Other soul and R&B acts that disclose AI
These files are “Creator disclosed AI”. Some told Spotify they are an AI Persona; others say it in a bio, a site or an interview. Each statement is quoted from its file.
Self-disclosed “AI Persona” on Spotify: Ava Holloway, Kayla Kross (its “A Little Thing Like Love” has a page), Jerry’s Sound Room, which has not said how much of the music itself is made with AI, and Soul Blues Icons.
AI named in their own words:
- almost real.: its Spotify biography calls it “the original pioneer of AI-assisted cover music”.
- Enlly: its biography mentions “touches of creative AI”, with human writers and arrangers credited.
- IngaRose: its Instagram bio says “Human written lyrics” with “Stems & arrangement refined using Suno.”
- Jada Monroe: the official site says “Jada is a character” and production is made “with the assistance of AI tools”.
- Nick Hustles: producer Nick Arter, who told Billboard “when I was laid off, I actually doubled down on AI.”
- Nyla Stone: its Spotify biography calls it “una artista virtual creada con inteligencia artificial”.
- Olivia B Moore: she “uses AI as a creative partner”, per her Spotify biography.
- RebornBeat: “With AI as my creative instrument”.
- King Willonius: comedian Willonius Hatcher, whose site says he wrote the “BBL Drizzy” lyrics and “used AI-generated music and vocals.”
Soul and R&B acts with a platform AI label only
For these acts, our verdict rests on a platform label. Where a file also quotes a bio or a report, it is noted, but none of these files records a creator statement that the music is AI-made.
Spotify “Likely AI Persona” plus a Deezer-tagged album: 19s Soulers (Deezer tags “Back To Friends (Soulful Blues)” (Deezer); our file records that “Careless Whisper (1960’s Motown Soul)” did not show the notice in the same check), Aven, Benny Rivers, Imani Dawn, Joy Rhodes, Layah Noir, Major Droid, Mary of Gold, Orion7, Reyna Joy, Shifty Brent and Slime Dot.
Spotify “AI Persona” badge (self-reported to Spotify), filed as a platform label: Aria Blu and China Styles. Our China Styles file records that Apple Music’s biography names Margaret Bynum as the person behind the project.
Deezer tag only: Honey Veil, whose Spotify biography says she “uses technology to give her words a voice” without naming AI; My Boy Arlo; Soul’d Out, whose Spotify biography says it “does not represent a singer, fictional human, or AI-generated person” (Spotify); and “The Professor” Nick Harrison, whose “Art Official Soul” albums Deezer tags.
Sienna Rose
Sienna Rose is filed under neo-soul and R&B; her Spotify biography calls her “a neo-soul singer” (Spotify). Deezer told the BBC that “many of her albums and songs on the platform are detected and flagged” as computer-generated, and the BBC reported in Jan 2026 that “Into the Blue” had been played more than five million times (BBC News, checked Oct 24, 2026). Our file records no public statement from the people behind the project, so our verdict stays “Platform AI label”. Our Imani Dawn file records two Deezer singles credited to Sienna Rose and Imani Dawn.
Gospel and country crossovers
A few files carry a soul or R&B tag but sit mainly in another genre. Gospel-led acts Solomon Ray (“Creator disclosed AI”), Candidly Spoken and Thompsxn Therapy (both “Platform AI label”) are left for a gospel roundup. FM 1431, Jax Wilder, Lone Star Lyric House and The Naughty Jukebox are covered in AI country singers.
How to check a soul singer yourself
- Open the Spotify profile and look for the AI Persona badge, then the “Artist Badges” section under About. “AI Persona” means the artist said so; “Likely AI Persona” means Spotify decided (Spotify Support). Our Spotify AI Persona guide explains both.
- Check albums one by one on Deezer for “AI-generated content”. One untagged album does not clear a catalog, as 19s Soulers shows.
- Read the bio and official site. Many acts above say it themselves.

Is Xania Monet AI?
The voice and image are, by her creator’s account. Her manager, Romel Murphy, told Billboard “This is real music — it’s real R&B” and “There’s an artist behind it”; Billboard put her catalog at 9.8 million on-demand official US streams at the time (Billboard).
Is “Papaoutai (Afro Soul)” AI?
Partly, by its producer’s account. Daghighi, 25, made it with two other producers, said he prefers Stromae’s original himself, and TV4 Nyheterna counted 155 million Spotify plays and use in more than 1.7 million TikTok clips (TV4 Nyheterna).
Is Sienna Rose AI?
Her team has not commented, so our file records a platform label. The BBC noted other signs: she has no social media presence, has never played a gig and has no videos (BBC News).
