How to block AI music on Spotify, Deezer, YouTube Music and Tidal
Which apps let you hide AI-generated music today, which only label it, and what each official help page says. Checked October 22, 2026.
As of October 22, 2026, only Tidal has a working switch to stop AI-labelled music from playing. Deezer has announced one. Spotify and YouTube Music label some AI music but give you no off switch.
Tidal: turn it off in Settings
Tidal’s policy says: “You can turn off AI-labeled recordings in Settings. Once it’s off, AI-labeled recordings won’t play.” Recommendations refresh over a day or a few days (Tidal AI Policy). The label only covers recordings Tidal judges wholly AI-generated. If you find an untagged one, report it through Tidal’s support form and choose “This track wasn’t tagged as AI but should be”.
Deezer: tagged and left out of recommendations; search toggle coming
Deezer already leaves detected AI tracks out of its recommendations and tags the albums. You cannot turn the tag off (Deezer Support). On October 13, 2026 Deezer announced a toggle, due before the end of 2026, that removes fully AI-generated tracks, albums and artists from search (Deezer).
Spotify: no switch yet
Spotify has no setting to hide AI music. What it does:
- Artists with an AI Persona or Likely AI Persona badge are left out of editorial and personalised recommendations unless you follow them (Spotify).
- Spotify says it will let listeners report profiles they think are AI Personas “in the coming months” (Spotify).
- Badges are “gradually rolling out”, so you may not see them yet (Spotify Support).
Listeners have asked for a switch in the “Mark / Disable AI Generated Songs” idea on Spotify Community (Spotify Community). Third-party blocklists and browser scripts exist, but they are not run by Spotify. Check what they access before installing one.
YouTube Music: labels only
YouTube Music labels songs made primarily with generative AI on the player page (YouTube). “There is no option to simply block labeled AI tracks from appearing in your playlists” (Ars Technica).
See each platform page for the latest status.
