Is Nick Hustles AI?

Arter told Billboard: “when I was laid off, I actually doubled down on AI.” Billboard says Arter “also releases music under the name ‘Nick Hustles’” and profiles him among creators making AI-generated or AI-assisted music; he says lyrics and editing remain his own work.

The official site calls Nick Hustles an “AI creative strategist & entrepreneur” and an “AI music pioneer”.

Spotify shows a “Likely AI Persona” badge on the artist profile. The badge text reads: “Spotify has applied this label because this artist reached the minimum audience for review and signals suggest their public identity may be AI-generated.” Spotify says the badge concerns the artist’s public identity, not how the music was made.

Deezer’s album page for “Soul of a Hustler Vol. 2” (album, Jun 11, 2025) shows the “AI-generated content” notice: “This album includes tracks detected as generated with the use of AI.” “Soul of A Hustler Vol 1. | Motivational 70s Music”, “Grown Folks Music Vol. 1” and “I Don’t Give a Fuck No More” carry the same notice. “IF YOU MUST GO” and “I’m Letting Go Of The Bullshit” do not.

Mashable reports: “Nick Hustles is an alias for Nick Arter, 35, a human producer who uses AI music tools Suno and Udio.”

The New Yorker’s Kyle Chayka writes that Arter’s music is released under the name Nick Hustles and that “he doesn’t hide the fact that his music is made with A.I.”
