Is Danny Bones AI?

Contacted by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, the Node Project said it is based in the UK and is “a creative experiment exploring music, visual storytelling and emerging AI tools”, run by “a small group of creatives”. The Bureau reported that Danny Bones is an AI-generated persona fronted by the Node Project.

Spotify shows a “Likely AI Persona” badge on the artist profile. The badge text reads: “Spotify has applied this label because this artist reached the minimum audience for review and signals suggest their public identity may be AI-generated.” Spotify says the badge concerns the artist’s public identity, not how the music was made. Deezer’s album page for “SLOPAGANDA 2” (album, Sep 25, 2026) shows the “AI-generated content” notice: “This album includes tracks detected as generated with the use of AI.” “SLOPAGANDA”, “This is England” and “SHUT UP” carry the same notice.

The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, working with Novara Media, named music producer Denver Bamber and 3D artist Theo Blackledge as the founders of the Node Project. It reports that Bamber confirmed he and Blackledge founded the Node Project and created Danny Bones, and that Blackledge separately confirmed his role. Bamber told the Bureau he does not describe himself as far right and rejects the label.

The Bureau reported that the party Advance UK paid the Node Project for its main campaign video in the Gorton and Denton byelection, which used a Danny Bones instrumental. It also reported that Spotify said the Danny Bones tracks went through human review and did not break its rules.
